The world's most interesting electric police cars

Police forces are slowly turning to emission-free vehicles in a bid to become more eco-friendly, with the likes of the Tesla Model Y and Kia EV6 being used to tackle crime:

AC Schnitzer BMW i4:
We searched the internet for the most intriguing electric police vehicles that are on the streets, stealthily apprehending offenders with their sly electric drivetrains. As per usual, we're only concentrating on police cars that we're quite positive saw real use while showcasing some intriguing ideas that may eventually be turned into police cars.

Audi RS e-tron GT:
Yes, it's a concept car, but we couldn't ignore this police machine covered in carbon fiber, could we? Renowned German tuning company AC Schnitzer has modified this specific i4 police vehicle, adding alloy wheels, a new front splitter, and a rear wing.

The police car is thought to have greater power than the normal car's 419kW and 586lb ft of torque, based on the i4 M50. To provide an even more aggressive setup, it rides 20–25 mm lower than the conventional vehicle.

BMW i3:
Due to Dubai's reputation as a supercar haven, the police force requires equipment capable of keeping up with Lamborghinis and Ferraris. An Audi RS e-tron GT was added to the Dubai police fleet in order to handle possible high-speed chases. The RS-badged e-tron GT can reach 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a 283-mile range, so if it comes to a chase, it can handle itself quite well.

BMW i4:
Police departments all over the world have been using the BMW i3 for routine traffic enforcement in cities and towns. At an astounding expense of $2.9 million, the Los Angeles Police Department expanded its fleet in 2016 by adding 100 electric i3 vehicles.  Although the LAPD's dedication to electrifying its patrol cars was commendable, officers found the i3's 100-mile range to be difficult and noticed that they weren't used as frequently as the department's piston-powered vehicles.

Chevrolet Blazer EV:
An additional i4? This year, the popular electric saloon was approved to join the New Zealand Police Force since the German EV had the performance and range to handle a variety of tasks.  For a trial program, the force has added five i4 patrol cars to its fleet. Should the experiment be successful, the New Zealand Police want to employ the vehicles for certain use cases.

Chevrolet Bolt EV:
The first-ever all-electric Blazer from the American brand will be converted into a police car and put into use early in 2019.

With 410kW and 638lb ft of torque, the Blazer EV has more than enough power to keep up with a fast-moving pursuit. Additionally, its 320-mile range should provide ample distance for daily tasks. The Blazer EV comes equipped with steel wheels, police-rated tires, skid plates, and extra emergency gear as standard.

Ford F-150 Lightning Pro SSV:
Electric police cars are becoming more and more common. Smaller vehicles, like the Chevy Bolt EV, are showing their value in some US police departments. Big electric SUVs and powerful salons are not the only ones. As part of a grant, the Hyattsville City Police Department in Maryland launched a Zero electric motorbike in addition to adding a Bolt EV to its fleet of cars.

Hyundai Ioniq 5:
What happens when an electric vehicle (EV) pick-up truck and a police cruiser meet paths? A modified F-150 Lightning pickup truck designed specifically for use as a police response vehicle is called the Pro SSV. Either a 332kW powertrain with 775lb ft of torque or an extended-range version with 432kW and 775lb ft of torque powers the F-150 Lightning Pro SSV. The F-150 was ingeniously modified to accommodate law enforcement duties. For instance, the side bolsters were lowered to facilitate policemen wearing gun holsters' entry and exit.
